Mercer Ko's Sylvia

Ray Mercer, a former heavyweight boxing champion who is now 48 years old, made boxing looks good as he knocked out former MMA heavyweight star Tim Sylvia in 9 seconds Birmingham, Alabama on . They originally were going to fight a boxing match but at the last minute the contest was found to be illegal and Mercer agreed to go ahead and make the fight happen with MMA rules. Mercer before the fight said that he hopes that Sylvia goes ahead and stands up and fights him since that was originally what they were going to do -- box. So how much Sylvia did not use his full MMA arsenal is under question, but there is no question that even if Sylvia was holding back a little and just using boxing, there wouldn't have been enough time even if he did use other skills in 9 seconds to really matter.
