Valuev Will Fight Klitschko If Given TV Rights

Vitali Klitschko(39-2, 37 KO’s) has been negotiating with the ex WBA champion Valuev(50-2, 34 KO’s) for awhile now. He started off with giving Nicolai Valuev the chance to fight for the prestigious WBC belt and potentially giving Nicolai a chance at getting a title again at $1 million. Valuev's side with Don King has wanted $4 million for the fight which is ridiculous for a ex champ coming off a loss to demand so much. But, none-the-less, Vitali conceded to offer him $2.5 million dollars. Valuev has now said he will accept that amount if he also gets a portion of money for TV rights in the United States and Russia.

This is what Nicolai had to say:

“Yes, I want to box against Vitali. This is an interesting battle for boxing fans, who have been waiting for it for several years. Last night, I called my manager Don King. The Klitschko side has offered us $2.5 million. We accept this proposal. But we also want money from the TV rights in the U.S. and Russia.”

Hopefully, something can be worked out because I and alot of fans would love to see this fight. But, I honestly think Valuev is demanding too much. We will have to see. If this fight does not go through Vitali may opt to face the unbeaten #2 WBC ranked Odlanier Solis (15-0, 11 KO’s)instead.
