Klitschko KO's Sosnowski in 10

Vitali Klitschko successfully defended his title tonight with a 10th round knockout over Sosnowski. Sosnowski did show some good skill, and was very fit. But, it wasn't enough.

The fight started off with Vitali keeping the distance and popping his jab mainly. Sosnowski showed great footwork and movement and this kept him from getting hit as often. This continued for the majority of rounds with Sosnowski showing some brief flashes a talent. But, he still got hit enough and Klitschko scored round after round.

In round 9 Klitschko landed some big shots that rocked Sosnowski. That was Klitschko's biggest round up to that point in my opinion.

Then in round 10, Vitali came out even more aggressive and you can tell he was on a mission to stop Sosnowski. He did. Near the end of the round his left hand followed by a straight right hand which ended it as Sosnowski landed in the corner the ref stopped the fight.

Congratulations to Vitali on a solid win and Vitali now improves to 40-2-0 with 38 victories coming by way of KO.

Klitschko vs Sosnowski Prediction

This is my prediction for the WBC heavyweight championship fight between current champion Vitali Klitschko and Albert Sosnowski.

I think that people are underestimating Sosnowski. His 2 losses were due to circumstances that are no longer present. His 1st loss was when he was inexperienced with boxing having just transferred over from kickboxing not long before, and his second loss he was ill. He has steadily improved. He is at his peak right now, and he is in what it looks like the best shape of his life.

I don't think this will be a cakewalk for Vitali. I think that Sosnowski might even "shock" Vitali in the 1st round because even Vitali might not know how good Sosnowski is going to be good on this night. But, I predict that Vitali will start to become faster on his feet by rounds 2 and 3 and start to jab Sosnowski and keep the distance. The fight most likely will last until the later rounds. If I knew Sosnowski had a good chin I'd say the fight would go to the scorecards with Vitali winning a unanimous decision, but I have a feeling Vitali will catch him in the later rounds and there will be a TKO victory. So either decision or late TKO and I'm going with late TKO. What do you think?

When is Klitschko vs Sosnowski?

Sosnowski Aims To Be 1st Polish Heavyweight Champ

Heavyweight contender and former EU champion Albert Sosnowski (45-2-1, 27 KOs) is very confident ahead of his WBC heavyweight championship fight this Saturday, May 29th against current WBC champ Viatli Klitschko (39-2, 37 KOs) and plans on becoming the 1st Polish heavyweight champion. Here's what he had to say...

On Adamek defeating Arreola

“I would like to continue this way of winning fights by Polish boxers."

On how he will be different than other Klitschko opponents

“You can make the assumption that those guys lost before they even stepped in the ring. I am going into the ring to win and whatever presents itself, body punches, head punches, whatever, I will try to win.”

“I don’t want to say too much because I want to exploit his weaknesses. Klitschko fights in a very unorthodox way. The way he leaves himself open after he punches gives me some idea of what I would like to do, some of the defensive liabilities I’d like to exploit. Of course, I have to be aware of the punches from both hands because he can knock people out with either hand. Everything is prepared. The question is how we do it in the ring.”

On being the underdog

“Of course, I’ve heard the pundits say I have no chance, but it really doesn’t matter because the people who I listen to and trust, my trainers, my family, my girlfriend, of course my manager, they believe in me and whatever is being said by others makes no difference. I’m happy and we all believe I have a chance to win.”

On what he learned from his loss to Lawrence

“I made a mistake preparing for this fight. I know what I did wrong. But the loss to Zuri Lawrence catapulted me to a different part of my career, a better part of my career…winning all those fights and the European championship.”

On what he learned since

“You have to believe in yourself. You have to believe in every minute of every round that what you’re doing is right. Fighting against Klitschko is a different thing altogether, obviously, but it’s the heavyweight division and Vitali Klitschko is just a man, just like me.”

Klitschko Sosnowski Public Workout

Today was press training for the current WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (39-2, 37 KOs) and challenger Albert Sosnowski (45-2-1, 27 KOs) ahead of their heavyweight championship fight this Saturday, May 29th. Here are some videos of the event.

Steward: Haye Disappearing From Wladimir Klitschko

Wladimir Klitschko's trainer Emanuel Steward recently talked about how he believes Haye is scared of Wladimir Klitschko. He says ever since Wladimir posted a video calling out Haye, Haye has remained silent and only let his manager talk which he never done before. Here's what Steward had to say:

"Wladimir is a lot meaner and tougher than people realize. He looks like a sweet guy but there is a real mean dark side. I know he's that way. He's always trying to talk proper and making sure that he's always using the proper English words. He's always trying to be so nice and polite. He [Haye] followed us for two post-fights, he's all up on the stage threatening Wladimir and now that Wladimir called him back, he's disappeared. He’s got laryngitis. The only talking is coming from his manager. The manager was never talking before so why's he talking? I can’t say 'why wont he sign the contract' - because he signed the contract and he still wont fight.

Vitali: Klitschko's Will End Haye's Career

Ahead of this Saturday's WBC heavyweight championship fight between Vitali Klitschko (39-2, 37 KOs) and Albert Sosnowski (45-2-1, 27 KOs), Vitali has warned Dave Haye that either he or his brother will ruin Haye's career.

“I want to fight David Haye very much. Wladimir wants to fight against him also. I want to fight David Haye because he has the WBA world title. Wladimir wants to fight him because it’s personal. Wladimir says he’s not interested in his title. David Haye touched him so deeply that Wladimir wants to shut his mouth in the ring.

“David Haye understands the fact that the Klitschko brothers will be the end of his career. The fight against me will be much shorter than against Wladimir because Wladimir will beat him badly all twelve rounds and then knock him out. I will give him a much easier proposal. I’ll knock him out in three, maximum four rounds!”

Vitali Klitschko Quotes

“Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis had this belt. It’s not for nothing that I own it now! I want [the belt] to prove that I’m the best in the world.”

Albert Sosnowski Quotes

“I realize that all the experts consider me a longshot, but Klitschko will regret having given me this opportunity. He’s already passed his prime. Many of his fights have been against living punching bags who had already lost in the locker room. You only have an opportunity like this once in a lifetime and I want to use it. I’ll show Vitali and become be the first Polish heavyweight champion!”

Sosnowski Interview Before Klitschko Fight

Albert Sosnowski was recently interviewed ahead of his WBC heavyweight championship fight with current champ Vitali Klitschk ahead of their title clash this Saturday, May 29th. Here's the actual transcript of the interview.

Do you feel the pressure connected with the fight at the moment?

Yes, the final countdown to the fight already started. The remaining day will surely go very fast. I'm rather calm by now but sometimes I have thoughts mobilizing me to intensified work. This is the fight of my life, I want to take the chance because such occasion may not happen again. Everything goes well by now. My training sessions go satisfactorily, especially sparring. Apart from that, I'm healthy, I didn't catch any injury which makes me really glad. There's anything which hampers my hard preparations. Additionally, we cooperate with a psychologist in order to be well mentally prepared. It will help me to maintain full concentration despite of the big pressure. We'll see. Let's hope that everything will be 110% completed. I hope that the top of my form will fall on May 29th which will allow me to perform excellently.

You know very well what to expect from the Klitschko: jabs, powerful left blows dealt from a distance. The whole world knows his style of boxing. What will you use so as to surprise him?

That's right. Vitali Klitschko is a magnificent fighter having his specific style of boxing. The style is unpredictable, he deals various kinds of punches. He has both left and right hand atomic. Everybody knows that his clean punch results in KO. How do I want to surprise him? Among others by my positive approach to the bout. I'll enter the ring in order to defeat him. I won't have the clash already lost before the first bell. It's not enough for me that I face the world champion Vitali Klitschko. The endurance to the final bell won't be enough to satisfy me. I want to show my character, the self-confidence and the belief in the final victory. The crucial issue will be my speed, aggressiveness, and determination which will make him a bit nervous and hamper him. Subsequently, I'll try to take a risk regardless of the fact that the possibility of my defeat by KO will be higher. I'll be definitely striving to surprise him somehow, to take a serious risk. Surely, I won't be focusing only on avoiding KO but I'll be fighting to win victory over him, I can promise. Will I be successful? It will be verified in the ring.

At first sight, the tactics to fight the Klitschko brothers may look very simple: to shorten the distance. However nobody has succeeded in doing it by now. Where's the key to push the way through his jabs?

As I said previously, the key element will be my mentality, my approach to the contest. The majority of boxers who came face-to-face with the Klitschko's had their bouts already lost in their warm-up rooms. Their dream already came true when they got the fight against one of the Klitschko brothers. The high salary they had been proposed fully compensated the probably poor performance in the ring. That was enough for them and obviously they were paralyzed in the ring later. Frankly speaking, I don't know how will it will look like in my case. However, I must have a proper speed, a tight defense, and good movement. Klitschko's not a machine, he also can have a bad day, or just disregard me. But we don't count on that. I expect Vitali perfectly prepared, showing his best. Thus, we work form this angle. If it will happen differently, it will be only advantageous for me. I'm concentrated on myself. If we compared his and my boxing skills, our experiences and all the remaining elements, it would turn out that my chances are only minimal or I'm deprived of chances completely. On the other hand, my self-confidence, a proper mental approach or simply a fluke, may cause that the whole bout looks differently. I
believe that if I only have one opportunity, I'll take such a chance in the championship bout. I don't want to promise so much, I don't need to make loud announcement, to speak high-flown words. However, I'm determined to achieve a big success. Everything shapes up very well in this way. I'm content with my cooperation with the head coach Fiodor Lapin. I'm satisfied with my attitude to the fight and my tactical plan. Our talks conclude that we believe in the success which motivates the whole team to the intensified work.

Your sparring partners were David Price and Evgeni Orlov. Price is the type of a fighter who can imitate Vitali Klitschko with his great left jab. How do your sparrrings look like?

Actually, David Price only just only became a (? maybe saying he was temporary..), he still has a quick left jab. He deals numerous blows which is characteristic for amateur boxers. Price transferred this style to the professional boxing. It's a pity he had to leave early in connection with his clash. I'm really content with two conducted sparring sessions. I was hitting him frequently, he also endeavoured to exert pressure. We asked him for imitating Klitschko for constant hunting with a straight right. I was defending myself very well. Additionally, I had one sparring with Evgeni Orlov, which I'm also glad about this training fight. Orlov, a bit taller than Klitschko, was very inconvenient, he has a powerful punch. I also managed to hit him numerously. His boxing style doesn't resemble Vitali's, but our aim was to exercise a few tactical elements. I'm also training with Mariusz Wach, because sparring will be prolonged. There is also a chance that Tyson Fury will visit me. All the sparring partners are very tall, we're still focusing on exercising a few tactical points we had planned. we want to prepare several types of actions to make them automatic for me. We planned 10-round and 12-round sparring. I want to check my physical ability. Apart from that, I'm grateful for the help of my sparring partners who strived to imitate Klitschko. It was so important for me.

What were the main points you put an emphasis on during your preparations? Was it improvement of your technique or rather conditional issues? It's known that Vitali is quite an old fighter and you have been always famous for your great endurance.

As far as my conditioning abilities, I showed them only in my last fights which was a bit unexpected. Previously, I had a reputation of a 6 round boxer. The majority of my bouts were scheduled for 6 rounds. The passing to longer contests was very beneficial for me. Last year I fought two 12 round bouts in a good pace, on a big level, and I'm happy about it. We work mainly on the tactical points and on my defense in order to avoid punches. We also focus on proper movement, not only backwards but also sideways. We derived it from the workshop of Tomasz Adamek who's trainers showed him that before the fight against Chris Arreola. The element will be really inconvenient for the rival as tall as Klitschko because it will be harder to hit me. The question of endurance will be also significant. Noticeable crises sometimes happen to Vitali. Such crises may happen again if the pace will be high, and obviously if he doesn't manage to hit me. I'll try to take my advantage then. Of course, it's easier to say than to perform. However, we prepare various options, we work on various elements in order to combine them. It looks great so far. I'm content with the whole work, and I'll try to show my best on May 29th!

Sanders Picks Wladimir Klitschko Over Haye

Former WBO heavyweight champion and one of the few men to ever beat current WBO, IBF, IBO, and Ring heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, Corrie "The Sniper" Sanders has said he thinks that Wladimir is too big, and is too good of a boxer for David Haye to win if they met for a unification bout. Here's what Sanders had to say:

"I think Haye is too small for him. He's a good boxer but he's not a big heavyweight. I can't imagine Haye being able to withstand one of Wladimir's punches and Wladimir is a great boxer. I just don't think Haye will be able to beat him."

Vitali had is media and public workout at his training camp in Going, Austria, while Sosnowski was at his training camp in Wisla, Poland.

Klitschko Quotes

On Albert Sosnowski

“I expect Albert Sosnowski to be in the best shape of his life. I am sure that he will not run and hide like my last opponent Kevin Johnson. He said that he will give his all to get my belt, but I am well prepared and will not underestimate him. Albert Sosnwoski is not a big name and not so famous in boxing so far. But that does not count at all. He will be very powerful and will always go forward. He will do anything to get my title.”

On preparation

“I have trained very hard and I am in a very good condition. I am prepared to go 12 rounds if I have to.”

On the fight at the soccer stadium in Gelsenkirchen, Germany

“I am looking forward to fighting in a big arena as my brother Wladimir did in Schalke and recently in Düsseldorf. The Schalke stadium is great and I am really looking forward to going there in a couple of days. I know from Wladimir’s fight and from soccer matches I have attended in the arena that the fans and the atmosphere are terrific.”

On future fights

“Fights against David Haye and Nikolay Valuev are interesting fights, but I am not sure if they dare to step in the ring with me or my brother. Anyway, I am not thinking of any other opponents than Albert Sosnowski right now. ”

On being a professional athelete and a politician

“Right now I am able to handle both sides well, like Manny Pacquiao in the Philippines. I want to implement western standards in the Ukraine, my country has so much potential and I want to help to make things better.”

Fritz Sdunek Quotes

** Vitali’s trainer:

“Vitali is in an extraordinary shape. Once again, he improved his boxing skills. We have worked a lot on his footwork and he went through more than 110 rounds of sparring.”

IBF: Klitschko vs Haye Fight Deal Still Possible

The IBF originally gave Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye until May 17th to finish negotiations for a exception to fight each other in a unification match instead of Wladimir fighting his mandatory Alexander Povetkin. A deal had not been reached however the IBF has said that that there is still a possibility that if a proposal is sent to them before June 17th, which is the date Wladimir and his team have until to work out a deal with Alexander Povetkin and his team, that they have they still could accept the proposal. It's just not guaranteed like it would have been before May 17th.

The IBF's championship chairman Lindsey Tucker had the following to say:

"If Klitschko (goes ahead?) and submits his request, there is no guarantee that he will receive approval. Wladimir could still reach a deal with Haye and it is possible the unification will get priority over the mandatory defense. (Klitschko-Povetkin is not a sure thing) but the possibility of it happening is very high."

Klitschko Haye Deal Not Reached Before Deadline

The IBF had granted until May 17th for negotiations to be complete for a fight between current WBO, IBF, IBO, and Ring heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and current WBA heavyweight champion David Haye. The IBF had granted an exception for a unification bout instead of Wladimir taking on his mandatory Alexander Povetkin.

Now that the deal had not been reached (I truly think it was a fair deal 50/50 and Haye wanted no part of fighting Wladimir and the previous loudmouth has mysteriously has become silent) Wladmir has 30 days to come up with a deal to face his IBF mandatory Povetkin before a purse bid is ordered.

Here is what Haye's manager Adam Booth had to say about this matter:

"The talks are at an early stage. Right now I'm talking with Shelly Finkel(Wladmir Klitschko's advisor). As of this point a deal has not been reached. We shall see how the things play out but there is still a lot to be discussed - including the distribution of the money. We have to meet with representatives of the American network and the coordination of all of these formalities will take some weeks."

"This is a problem for Wladimir, not David. We can spend months negotiating and while this is ongoing Klitschko can fight Povetkin. Haye understands that to conquer America, it can only come with a victory over the Klitschko brothers. The next opponent for David will be one of the Klitschko brothers. However, they are just as interested in us. Wladimir wants the big fight. And the fight with David can be a grand event that can create interest all over the world."

Booth is acting like this is the first time the idea of a fight has been brought up. There should be some elements that are still in aggreement that have been agreed upon from the 1st time Haye signed the contract to fight Wladimir but backed out with a mysterious injury. Plus, I imagine the talks have gone on a little bit longer than Booth is suggesting. I think whats really going on is Haye wants no part of Wladimir but is going to pretend that he is, and then when it comes time he will be "busy" with a fight and so on and so forth. I believe Haye is just happy with his status and fighting sub par fighters in England and is in no hurry to risk it all by fighting a Klitschko.

Banks vs Gavern On Klitschko Sosnowski Card

On the undercard of the WBC heavyweight championship fight between Vitali Klitschko vs Albert Sosnowski this May 29th, the 27 year old current NABF heavyweight Jonathan Banks (24-1(17) overall and 4-0(3) as a heavyweight) will take on the 33 year old Jason Gavern 19-7-3(8).

Banks got his NABF title last by beating Travis Walker by knockout back in March on the undercard of Wladimir Klitschko vs Eddie Chambers.

Should be a decent match-up. If Banks wins, it would be interesting to see if Banks get a rematch with Adamek at heavyweight...

Haye Wants To Fight Vitali Klitschko

As the IBF's deadline of May 17 to make a unification fight between champion Wladimir Klitschko and WBA champion David Haye draws near, it appears that Haye doesn't want to fight Wladimir. According to Wladmir's side they are willing to give him a 50/50 split so there should be no reason this should not seem like a fair offer.

Haye's co-promoter Chris Mayer from Sauerland Event said he spoke with the Russian reporter Alexander Pavlovu of SportBox and because of that he feels that the deal won't get done be tomorrow's deadline, and says Haye would rather fight Wladimir's brother Vitali.

Chris Mayer Quotes

"I have this gut-feeling (a deal won't get done). David just fought John Ruiz on April 3 and wants to take a rest and wants more time to devote to his family. He is also more interested in making a fight with the older Klitschko brothers."

"A fight with Vitali could lead to a further unification against the winner of Wladimir and Alexander Povetkin. I don't think Haye and Klitschko will agree by May 17, the deadline set by the IBF to end negotiations."

Haye's manager Adam Booth also confirms Haye wanting to face Vitali over Wladimir..

Adam Booth Quotes

"David would like a fight with Vitali. He is better than his brother, and more experienced and he's stronger. Besides, Wladimir has to defend his title against Povetkin. I think, after Vitali's fight with Albert Sosnowski, all of us will try to make a deal for a big fight between David and Vitali Klitschko."

Again, there should be no reason why this fight shouldn't occur. Wladimir has called him out recently on a video directed towards him and heavyweight fans after Haye has called Wladimir out for over a year, and is now being silent and letting his manager and promoter's do the talking? When did this Haye show up? This is the same guy who confronted Wladimir on the stairs and now he won't at least defend himself for Wladimir telling him on a video that has been watched all over the world that Haye is "bitching out"? Isn't it strange that Booth doesn't explain why the negotiations haven't been successful? Wladimir wouldn't be tied up with a Povetkin fight if they were to just sign the contract! 50/50 is more than fair there should be no reason this fight shouldn't go through unless Haye is ducking, which I think he is....

IBF: May 17th Deadline For Klitschko Haye Negotiations

The IBF has granted an exception for their current champion Wladimir Klitschko (also holds the WBO, IBO, and Ring belts) to face David Haye in a unification (as stated by their rules that holds unification bouts over mandatory's) instead of facing the IBF mandatory Alexander Povetkin, but has until tomorrow, May 17th, to workout some sort of deal.

I doubt anything will occur. I don't think Haye wants to fight Wladimir and will come up with some sort of excuse. Most likely we will see Wladimir take on Povetkin later this year. We will have to see how that plays out considering Povetkin's recent press conference.

If I was Wladimir I'd offer a 75/25 split in Haye's favor, but say if he(Wladimir) knocks him out it will be a 50/50 split. This will draw interest in many ways. 1st how could Haye say that those terms would not be in his favor? If Haye refuses it will definitely show he is a coward. Secondly, if he accepts well Wladimir probably knows that he will knock him out, and he's no worse off than before, because he was planning on a 50/50 split from the beginning. Worse case scenario if he doesn's knock him out he doesn't make as much money but at this point I think Wladimir would fight him for free, and he would have the WBA belt.

I think 50/50 is already fair enough and even if Wladimir doesn't do something like I'm suggesting here it should be pretty obvious that Haye is ducking Wladimir if he doesn't think 50/50 is fair....

Vitali Klitschko Says He Will KO Haye Within 3

Current WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has recently stated that if a fight between him and current WBA heavyweight champion David Haye ever occurs(Haye backed out of his fight scheduled for last September in late negotiations with Vitali only to take on the then WBA champion Nicolai Valuev), Vitali Klitschko says he will knock him out with 2 to 3 rounds. Here's what Vitali stated...

"We have the negotiations with him(Haye) going. The only thing Haye has to do is to choose one of us – only to find himself horizontally out cold on the canvas later. If he chooses me – I’ll knock him out in 2-3 rounds. But if he accepts Wladimir’s challenge, my brother, as a man of art, will prolong his pleasure and will be painting Haye’s face in pizza colors for all the 12 rounds”

Sosnowski's Ex-Trainer Picks Klitschko To Win

Albert Sosnowski's former trainer Ukrainian Lubomir Palamar has talked recently how he has seen major improvements in Sosnowski over the years, but picks Vitali Klitschko to win come May 29th in their WBC heavyweight championship match.

Palamar On Sosnowski Improvements

“I began to work with Sosnowski in 2001. Right after Sosnowski had lost by knockout to Canadian Arthur Cook. In that bout Sosnowski wasn’t at his best, to put it mildly. He had a lot of technical mistakes, even his punch was set all wrong. Besides he simply wasn’t able to box with southpaws. However Albert was a quick learner – he caught on very fast. Physically he was already strong then, for example he could lift 140 kilos – the result of his trainings with famous Polish strongman Mariusz Pudzianowski. But he had to work on his technique. In his next rating fight Albert was much more convincing and progressed with each bout”.

Palamar On Why He Is Picking Vitali over Sosnowski

“All the trump cards – size, power, reach, champion’s experience are in Vitali’s hands. Now there’s no one better in the heavyweight division than the Klitschko brothers. I watched their recent bouts and was astonished by the fact that they keep on improving, despite their age! So Albert doesn’t really stand a chance. It’s too early for him to face Klitschko. When I worked with Sosnowski, I thought that he would be ready for a championship fight in 2011. But the boxing is beautiful because it’s so unpredictable. So I’ll watch this bout with interest”.

Klitschko Sosnowski Tickets Selling Fast

It's been reported that over 30,000 tickets have been sold out of 50,000 for the WBC heavyweight championship fight between Vitali Klitschko and Albert Sosnowski, which will take place on May 29th at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

The manager of the Klitschko's, Bernd Boente had the following to say:

"So far we have sold about 30,000 tickets. But there is still time, and also, there is a lot of interest in this fight. We expect to sell around 50 to 55 thousand tickets. I think we are going to have a good crowd." *** This quote is from about a week ago. So that means if you want tickets you should act now.

Sosnowski Says He Will Shock Klitschko & The World

Ahead of his showdown with current WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (39-2, 37 KOs) on May 29th, Albert Sosnowski (45-2-1, 27 KOs) says he will shock the world with a victory over the current WBC champ. Here is what Sosnowski had to say...

Sosnowski Quotes

“Fighting Klitschko for the WBC world title is a dream-come-true for me. It looked like an impossible dream when I first started boxing, but now it will happen on May 29th. Winning the world title will be more than a dream and then I will be on top of the world.

“It’s very important and a great honor for me to be fighting on pay per view in the United States. Fans in the U.S. know about great Polish boxers – first Andrew Golota and now Tomasz Adamek. They have great names and unbelievable followings, packing arenas across the U.S., and I know that they will be supporting me 100-percent.”

“Both of Klitschko’s hands are lethal and he has an awkward style. He is powerful and tough. It’s difficult to find a sparring partner who can simulate him because nobody fights his way. From a technical standpoint, Klitschko makes tons of errors, but he’s very tough and intelligent in the ring. He never lets you fight your fight but I will find a way to capitalize on the mistakes he makes in the ring.

“I have nothing to lose and I know people aren’t giving me much of a chance. That’s okay, though, they don’t know what I can do or hard I’m training. I will aggressive and take risks against him because too many fighters have gone in the ring against Klitschko just to earn a pay-check. I will move sideways, trying to explore his defensive errors, and see what happens when he gets hit. Aggression, movement and speed are the keys for me to win. I will not just stand there and let him beat me like others did. It’s all or nothing for me.”

Alexander Povetkin To Hold Presser

Tommorrow on May 1th, the team of heavyweight contender and IBF mandatory Alexander will hold a press conference in MOscow. They are going to give out information regarding how negotiations are going with the current IBF, WBO, IBO, and Ring heavyweight champion Wladimir "Steelhammer" Klitschko. The are also going to talk about their request to have Wladimir go through Olympic style drug testing.

Christian Meyer, the managing director of Sauerland Event, Povetkin's manager Wladimir Hryunow, Victor Ageev who is the president of the Russian Boxing Federation, as well as Grigoriy Rodchenkov who is the director of the Anti-doping Center will be at the presser. Rodchenkov is a expert of chemical science and will offer his solution to the doping control issue before a potential Klitschko vs Povetkin matchup.

Povetkin's trainer Teddy Atlas had the following to say about the Klitschko's:

“They choose the most convenient opponents and shape situations in their favor. The only way to have control over some issues is to have this fight in Russia”

Wow talk about crap. Part of this press conference is about basically saying that they believe the Klitschko's (or at least Wladimir) are "doping" before their fights. This is a pretty strong allegation, and I will be interested in how Wladimir and the Klitschko's respond after this press conference. And Teddy Atlas is an idiot. There's not much more to say about him.
